Agile Dogs is owned and run by passionate dog trainer, Dave Metcalf.
Dave is a fully qualified and devoted dog trainer in Perth with 20 years experience in dog training and behaviour and backed by industry qualifications and experience to achieve positive outcomes for both dogs and owners.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training (NDTF Qualified)
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment
- Qualified NDTF Trainer (National Dog Trainers Federation), teaching the NDTF Dog Behaviour and Training course to students wanting to become qualified dog trainers
- Diploma in Business Management
Passions:
- Providing both puppies and puppy owners the skills they need for a stable and confident dog later in life
- Turning timid and anxious dogs into sociable, confident dogs
- Educating and empowering owners to better understand their dogs
- Building great dog and owner relationships
- Seeing improvement in a dog’s behaviour or skills, as well as satisfaction and joy from dog owners
Experience:
- 20 years’ experience in the dog industry, centring around obedience training and behaviour modification
- 3 years as a dog trainer with Australian Dog Training (Melbourne) from 2007-2010, which at the time was the largest dog training company in Australia
- Agile Dogs was started in Melbourne in 2011, now operating in Perth for over 8 years
- Trainer & Assessor for over 5 years, teaching students to become Qualified Dog Trainers through the NDTF
- Running seasonal dog training courses to target aggressive and reactive dogs in partnership with the City of Cockburn
- Many years providing Agility Courses and training advice at annual Council and Community events
- Conducting professional obedience classes and behavioural consultations for community and private organisations
